Destination Europe Travel Testimonials

Mrs. Donna Wright, Austin, TX

Kayla, thanks so much for your message. We are still recovering from a bit of jet lag, so we are a bit slow to get back in the swing of things.

Our trip was absolutely fabulous. My 11 year old son loved Innsbruck and the snow-boarding. It was a beautiful little village and the SportHotel was fabulous. It was very comfortable and the people were very friendly and helpful. Our baggage arrived the evening after we did, due to the short connection in London. We thought for a moment we would not receive our bags but they finally did arrive. The hotel staff called several times to check on it for us. I highly recommend this hotel. All of the scheduled pick-ups went extremely well and timely. Both train rides were beautiful and most comfortable.

The hotel in Vienna was very nice, and the favorite of my 20 year old daughter as it was very 'hip.' The rooms were very nice and very comfortable and the hotel is in a fabulous location. The tour in Vienna was fabulous. Unfortunately, the Christmas markets closed at 5:00 on the 24th, contrary to what was on the web-site. We really wanted to visit Vienna for Xmas market and were a bit disappointed that we really only had 2 hours to visit it. Nonetheless, it was beautiful and we were able to enjoy the food and festivities. The food everywhere was excellent.

Our favorite was definitely Prague. Although, our original apartment was not available, the office where we checked in took extremely good care of us and made sure that we were happy with the new apartment. I believe the apartment was not quite as nice, based on the pictures we saw, however, the location was PERFECT. I don't think we could have had a better location. The apartment was very loud, but none of us seemed to really mind because everything else was so wonderful. The Xmas market was still open at the Old Town Square (a 3 minute walk from our apartment). We actually preferred this Xmas market to Vienna. The shopping was fabulous, the food was amazing, the architecture was beyond beautiful. We will definitely go back to Prague in warmer weather to enjoy being out-doors more. Thanks so much for giving us such a strong recommendation to keep Prague in the itinerary.

Kayla, we have worked with many travel agents in the past, but none as thorough, knowledgeable, professional and expert as you. I would absolutely recommend your services. I will be more than happy to forward pictures to you once we have downloaded and sorted through them. Thanks again for all your help and we do look forward to working with you on our Spain adventure in March.

Mr. Jason Saveage, Plano, TX

Hi Kayla ? Happy New Year!

Everything was awesome! I loved Eurostar. The train from Paris to Venice was not near as nice as Eurostar. But I thought the trip went great! We are thinking of doing Spain, Austria, Germany, Prague, and Maybe Turkey this next XMAS. Are those places all doable in one 13 day trip? Can you take the train from each place?

Thanks!

Jason

Kayla,

This is Jason's girlfriend Tina. I just wanted to thank you personally for planning such a wonderful trip for us. The hotels were amazing, as where the views. We couldn't believe we had an Eiffel Tower view. Everything went very smoothly for us and we ran into no problems. We had such an amazing time and can't wait to start planning our next one :)

We will definitely post a testimony on your website letting everyone know how great you are.

Have a great New Year.

Thanks,

Tina

Mrs. Paula Thomas, Ft. Worth, TX

Hi Kayla ? Happy New Year!

Wanted to thank you again for your help with our December trip to London and Paris a few weeks ago. We had a fabulous time, of course! All of our connections, passes, tickets, etc, functioned very well, too. Thank you! Have to share with you a couple of "cool" anecdotes associated with our "travels" ?

First, we were blessed with chilly but clear weather most of our time in Paris, which was fabulous. Only rain we had was on the day we arrived when we watched a rain storm move through from the Eiffel Tower, which we got right into, by the way. (No long waits as there apparently are in the summer.)

Second, our tour to Versailles turned out to be very personalized due to timing ? i.e., we were the only folks on the tour! So much fun to get to know our driver/tour guide, Francois, who, it turned out was an architect by training who decided that the actually architectural work he could get was not what he really wanted to do with his life so?.he was working for the tour company while deciding what to do next. He was delightful?.particularly as he spoke passionately about Louis XIV and the other kings who inhabited Versailles prior to the revolution. He wanted to make sure we, as Americans, understood that Louis was a wonderfully public, smart king who did a lot of good for France. When we return to France in late May/early June we would really love to have him again, if possible, although he told us that if their company has a Japanese tour he has to run it because he speaks Japanese?he was cute, too :)

Just FYI, too, we also enjoyed the location of our Hotel du Cadran. We had a great rate there, too, and the hotel staff was very helpful. Not sure if we will be able to stay there in late May when we will need two rooms. Finally, as soon as we determine our exact travel dates for our next trip, we will let you know, because we will at least want you to provide all of the tickets you provided us, and perhaps more.,

Thanks again for all of your help!

Paula

Mr. Steve Binder, West Palm Beach, FL

Hi Kayla,

My wife and I were looking for a fabulous, off the beaten track, unforgettable European vacation over the Thanksgiving 2007 Holiday. For those old enough to remember, we DID NOT want "If it's Tuesday, It must be Belgium" type of tour.

So I started my own investigative research on the web to see what I could figure out. Knew I wanted wine country in France, Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, and Frankfurt. I was lost in a sea of deals, locations, hotels, vineyards that I had no knowledge about, etc. Additionally, we were trying only 6 weeks before Thanksgiving to get the impossible airfare deal as well.

Fortunately, I came across Destination Europe's website. Wow, what a difference. Kayla Zeigler was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, authoritative, and on top of her game with European locales. She was also quite patient as we dropped countries, added others, changed excursions and generally always followed her expert advice.

We ended up with THE vacation of a lifetime, a one of a kind experience. We had a 16-day extravaganza that started in Brussels of all places (except it was Sunday). We traveled on a combination of first class airfare and Eurostar Train. Our itinerary included: Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Positano (including Pompeii, Ravello, Amalfi Coast) and Naples. We had private vineyard tours hosted by the owner, private drivers in each location, and 4 or 5 star hotels everywhere, breakfast included. Hard to describe just how magnificent our breakfast was as we sat on our suite's balcony in Positano watching the rising sun over the Tyrannian Sea.

Kayla is a 5 Star travel consultant that deserves your attention as you focus on Europe as your destination.

We are wanting to plan a week in Paris in November right after Thanksgiving 2008.

Again, Thank-you so much!

Mrs. Apryl Murray, Las Vegas, NV

Hi Kayla,

We truly did have a fantastic experience and I am going to put together some pics and a testimony of our experience. I am truly so thankful for your fabulous itinerary and your customer service while we were away. The train strike that occured during our Honeymoon could have easily ruined the rest of our trip and thanks to you we actually got to Venice earlier and could enjoy more sites in the face of what could have been a disaster. I am trying to catch up at home so bear with me for a few days, but I will get it all together for you I promise. Thanks again, and I would refer your services anytime.

Apryl :-)

Hi Kayla!

I am sorry it took me so long to get back to you. We had a wonderful time. Everything you arranged went perfect. I loved all the hotels. Positano was beautiful and amazing! I want to thank you again for putting our trip to Italy together - it is something we will never forget!!!

Thanks

Hi Kayla!

Thanks, Kayla! Our trip to Spain and Portugal was even better than we expected. All the plans went very well and we especially loved the house in Porto. The Seville hotel was also great! Good location and the room was wonderful - on top floor with balcony with the Cathedral was our night light.

Thanks thanks thanks for all your help. The vacation was GREAT. Have a wonderful time on your vacation!

Susan, Ann & David

Mrs. Gretchen Ciocco, Pittsburgh, PA

Hi Kayla!

I am SO SORRY it's taken me this long to get an email off to you. It's been literally NUTS since the moment we landed. Our trip was unbelievably incredibly fantastic!!! We had such a fabulous time and we have fabulous pictures - over 1600 of them!! (Once we get our computer up and running again and can get the photos off of our camera, we'll send a few choice shots to you. I'm guessing you'd rather not see all of them!!) I still can't believe how many sites we were able to pack into 14 days. The one day we spent in Florence touring the galleries and churches literally made the art classes I had to take back in college come to life - I still can't BELIEVE we got to see THE David, the ACTUAL David. And that seemed to be our reaction to many of the sites - we just simply couldn't believe we were there. THE Pantheon. THE Coliseum. It just went on and on!! Of course that doesn't even count the incredible FOOD we ate! I could go on and on about just the FOOD!!

In Rome, our driver was so nice, and almost apologetic for not knowing much English (too cute). We managed to talk with him a little bit and it was exciting to see how proud he is to live in Rome. Also, we LOVED the company you used for the Vatican tour. Our guide (Claudio) was wildly knowledgeable, and he was really funny. We had a GREAT time on that tour!

Florence - again, we absolutely LOVED our tour guide (Antonio) for the Academia and Uffizi galleries. In fact, if we ever get the opportunity to go back to Florence, I would love to track down Antonio to see if he would do an extended tour of the Uffizi gallery. Antonio was just so filled with information about the historical context that surrounded each work that it probably would take a tour led by him a couple of weeks to get through everything! He's like a walking Italian history book, art book and encyclopedia put together! Plus, he's really entertaining.

Siena - we loved our hotel in Siena, and really loved Luca, our concierge there. If you work with them regularly and can give them any positive feedback about Luca, we would love it if you could do that for us. He sent us to the most amazing restaurant (Papei, right in Piazza Mercato), and we had the best meal of the entire trip there. We will probably spend the rest of our lives trying to figure out how they make their Osso Buco!!

Monterosso - We had a great experience here. The concierge at our hotel recommended a fabulous restaurant for us as well (Miki, I think), and again, we ate simply the most unbelievable meals. This was probably our favorite place to see in all of Italy. We still can't believe how beautiful it is there, and we will definitely be figuring out a way to get back to the Cinque Terre so we can do some hiking and kayaking there at some point. It's breathtaking!! We would stay in the Hotel Accini again - particularly since it's in a great location.

Milan - we thought our hotel in Milan was fabulous, and the people at that hotel again were very very nice. Also, the driver that picked us up to take us to the airport on our last day was actually early (and it was a REALLY early pickup time), so it was soooo nice not to be worried about actually getting to the airport in enough time to catch our flight.

So at any rate, that is probably a LOT of information for you, but I hope you find it useful! We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks in Italy. There truly are not words for what an amazing time we had, and both my husband and I know that these incredible memories will always be with us! Thank you so much for your assistance in putting the whole trip together. We certainly would not have known where to start!!

Please let me know if you need any other info, and at some point (hopefully in the not too distant future), I will email you a few pictures!

Thanks Kayla!

Hi Kayla,

The trip to Germany for Oktoberfest was great - what a wonderful city! The hotel was perfect, as it was right in the middle of everything being across from the train station. The transfers were on time and fast...we saw alot of the city and defiantly enjoyed ourselves.

We are planning a return trip for the similar dates around the end of Sept. 2008. If you can we would like to book immediately!!....Thanks once again for all your help!

Ms. Diana Councell, Baltimore, MD

Hi Kayla!

We both had a wonderful time and it could not have gone more smoothly. We were really impressed with your service - we loved the hotels, and everything was perfect down to the drivers waiting for us at each leg of the trip (even when our first flight was 5 hours late to arrive!).

I'll be sure to use your services again for future trips. I'll be in touch soon!

Thanks so much,

Diana Councell

Mr. Rick Ferreira, Mt Laurel, NJ

Kayla,

I finally have a minute and wanted to get back to you regarding our recent trip to Europe. As I said to you before, you did an excellent job and we thank you for making everything so easy for us. All we had to do was travel. We really didn't have to plan or think too much about where and when we were going. We are not big travel tour-group fans so traveling independently with you doing all the leg work was definitely the way to go for us.

All of the hotels you selected for us were outstanding. You seemed to pick hotels that we would have in terms of location and taste in each of the cities we traveled. We particularly loved the Hotel 1898 in Barcelona and the Hotel Albatroz in Cascais (Portugal). The room at the Albatroz (room 802) was the best in the hotel both in terms of comfort, décor and views of the ocean.

We really enjoyed the private tours you set up for us, particularly the full day tour in Oporto. The tour guide/driver was very knowledgeable and friendly and made us feel very comfortable. The ˝ day tour in Barcelona was not as "private", but very informative nonetheless.

The private airport and hotel transportation was always on time and the drivers extremely courteous and friendly. We especially enjoyed our airport pickup driver in Oporto and the hotel pickup driver in Barcelona.

Kayla, you paid attention to every detail and made us feel as though someone in our own family had planned and organized our trim. Your work was truly the mark of someone who cared.

Ellen and I will use you on our next trip and we plan to recommend you to anyone planning a trip to Europe. Thanks again for everything.

Kayla,

If we ever need travel assistance again you will get my business. You did a great job, and it really was an adventure I will cherish forever - my favorite things were: an entire day in the Louvre, and walking the streets in Rome. Also, it was a great pleasure to bypass the lines, especially at the Eiffel Tower and the Vatican. The B&B in Alnwick (Northumberland, England) was awesome - the hosts are great people, and the setting is dreamlike. The hotel in Paris was small, but very convenient. The hotel in Rome was top notch - I highly recommend it. I took over two thousand pictures, and most of them are great!

Sincerely,

David Saier

Ms. Joanne Connolly, Auburn, NH

Dear Kayla,

I really don't know how to begin to tell you how perfect our Italy trip was. I think I will begin with how smoothly every aspect of the trip went because of your attention to detail. We were greeted at the airport in Rome and taken directly to the car service that dropped us at the door of the Sofitel Hotel. Our accommodations were beautiful and included a lovely view of the city. You mentioned that you will be staying there in Nov. you will not be disappointed. They have a lovely roof deck with a panoramic view of the city. The breakfast which was included in our package was more than we expected. We loved Rome and the tour of the Vatican and was breathtaking. We actually got to see the Pope at St. Peter's Square during his scheduled Wednesday audience.

We took the train to Florence and picked up our rental car all without any problems. Next stop was San Gimignano and the Hotel Pescille. This part of the trip was like being in a fairytale. Such a beautiful spot and our room had a lovely terrace and view of the city of towers. Thank you so much for suggesting this lovely town in Tuscany.

Back to Florence and the Hotel Degli Orafi another fantastic suggestion. Location, location, location, and also a lovely roof deck lounge to view the city over a glass of wine. It's very hard for us to choose but we think this was our favorite room. It may have something to do with the bottle of Champagne that greeted us on our arrival but?. We didn't think the breakfast that we had at the Sofitel in Rome could be topped, but our breakfast at this hotel was outstanding. We had the most fun in Florence, musicians playing in the streets and on the bridges such a lovely walking city.

Next we took the train to Venice where we arrived in a torrential downpour. Up to now our weather was picture perfect. We walked to the Hotel Saturnia which was a very short walk from the canal. The rain was brief but we are now claiming we have the only pictures of St. Mark's square that have no pigeons and no people in them. Venice is a beautiful city, there is so much to see. The hotel treated us to a complimentary water taxi to the island of Murano where the glass blowing craftsmen have their shops. We then went to the island of Burano, which is famous for the beautiful lace and for the painted houses, where we learned that each h color house represents a family. The hotel Saturnia had a famous restaurant in it called La Caravella where we had a lovely dinner under the stars. We capped off our last night with a Gondola ride with a tour of the Grand Canal and the bridge of sighs, at sunset.

It was "A trip of a lifetime" and we thank you.

I have attached some pictures of the canal under the Rialto Bridge in Venice, the painted houses of the island of Burano in Venice, a picture of the towers from San Gimignano in Tuscany, Dan and I on the Piazza Michelangelo overlooking Florence, and the crowd in St. Peter's, if you look closely you can see Pope Benedict.

Hi Kayla!

The tours were great, the Hotel in London was great, the Chateau in Amboise, France was wonderful and the people were very nice and very accommodating. Both the people running the desk at the Chateau and the hotel in Paris made reservations for us at wonderful quaint restaurants. They were quite helpful

It was a marvelous trip. I only wish it could have been longer. Thank you for all your help. I will tell all my friends and family about your company.

Mr. Mike Weinecke, Franklin, WI

Hi Kayla,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Everything on the trip went very well. It was nice not having to worry about transportation to and from the airport and from Paris to Disneyland. While waiting in line at Rock N Roller Coaster at Disneyland we saw Eva Longoria and Tony Parker when they rode the ride. The hotels were very nice and the staff at the Hotel Foch in Paris were especially helpful in recommending what to do and how to get there. We spent one afternoon touring the Palace at Versailles and then going rowing in the canal. At 9:30 they reopened the Palace Gardens for viewing of the lit water fountains. This was followed by a fireworks display. This only happens six Saturdays a year so we glad to have the opportunity to enjoy this event.

Although the last vacation one takes is usually the "best" vacation, this is one that we will enjoy for a long time.

Hi Kayla,

We are back and it was wonderful! Have to say Lake Como and Venice were indeed my favorites. The Hotel la Darsena in Como was the best, the people there were wonderful and our room was perfect with a lake view. I will write something official for you to post and send pictures, as soon as my son comes over and downloads pictures on the computer for me. I'm not up to speed on that yet, but will get a lesson soon and get back to you. Everyone met us on time coming and going as noted in your package. Very professional. We will definitely use you again, I've already given your name out. I'll get back with you for your posting and pictures.

Thanks again, it was great!

Ms. Michelle Crosby, Boston, MA

Hi Kayla,

Arne and I want to thank you for planning this amazing trip. We had the best time of our entire lives! The locations, hotels, and transportation were all excellent.

We had thought of planning a trip like this ourselves, but there's no way we could have done it as thoroughly as you did. We did a LOT of traveling, and having the cars, planes, trains, and ferries all scheduled for us allowed us to enjoy each region, not worry about how we were going to get there. I have to admit, we were a bit skeptical about the group tours, but they were fantastic. We especially loved the Burgundy wine tour and would recommend that company to anyone. I'm sure we were not the easiest clients to work with, with all our last minute changes and all, but you made everything work out perfectly! Thank you so much for making our honeymoon the trip of a lifetime!

Also, the drive from Split to Dubrovnik in Croatia is incredibly beautiful, but should never be done on a Saturday, as that is the worst day for traffic. I think it took us 2 hours to get 18 km. Arne and I loved Split and the drive really was spectacular. The hotel in Dubrovnik was great for us too!

Again, thank you so much for everything.

Sincerely,

Michelle and Arne Jensen

Mr. & Mrs. J. Little, Allen Park, MI

Hi Kayla,

Sorry for the delay in responding to your email. We had a fantastic time in Europe. All the arrangements worked out just as you scheduled them. We ended up renting a car in Burgundy; we made the arrangements ourselves shortly before leaving here. With the car we were also able to drive to Beaune, to the Abbaye les Citeaux, as well as Dijon. The Chateau de Gilly was quite luxurious; while we were staying there some person arrived in a helicopter and landed in the front yard. The helicopter stayed there overnight just like a car in the lot would. We had never been in a place quite this fancy.

The tour to Normandy was excellent; I would highly recommend that. The two tour guides were excellent, the bus was nice, and I learned a lot. The tours in Belgium were also good. I really liked the Welcome Hotel in Brussels. The staff was very friendly and the room was large.

We are attaching four pictures. One is the Chateau de Gilly, one is Ghent from the bridge, one is the Eiffel Tower from our Paris hotel window, and one is a picture of my daughter Sarah and me in the Markt square in Bruges.

Thank you for your help in arranging our dream vacation.

Hi Kayla,

Italy was almost as great as Spain. We were upgraded to a suite in Venice and received champagne again in Rome.

Everything else was better than we expected, especially the hotels. We will send some pics when filter through the 600 that we took.

Thanks for everything,

H. Dean Harris

Mr. Harvey Harris, Pikeville, KY

Hi Kayla,

Carlette and I just wanted to tell you that the Hotel Montecarlo is underrated at 4 stars. We are even more pleased with this place than the Westin in Madrid. The staff gives us personal attention including a complementary bottle of champagne for our honeymoon. The room is as big as an apartment complete with jacuzzi and power metal shades that make noon look like midnight.

Good job Kayla and we will recommend you to our friends when they travel to Europe!

Thanks,

H. Dean Harris

Kayla

We loved the trip to Europe. All the hotels were lovely.

Let's start with London. The Sumner Hotel in London was nice, quaint and more of a Bed & Breakfast than a full service hotel. The room was nice but small for three people. The staff was great and helpful to say the least. Breakfast was good too. Just couldn't get used to that driving on the wrong side of the street. The London tour was good but I think we should have opted for the full day tour. We went back to Westminster Abbey and Piccadilly Circus the next day. The bus and Underground tickets came in very handy. Weather ranged between 75? and 85? F daily.

The Splendid Etoile Hotel in Paris was great and deserves the 4 Star rating it carries. The concierge, Farrar, was most helpful and charming. Carlene and I had dinner at the restaurant associated with the hotel on our last night and thought it too was first class. We avoided the buses but used the Metro a lot, the elevator to the train was just outside the door to the hotel. The tour of the Louvre was great, should have scheduled a few extra days in Paris. Weather was in the 90? F or higher.

We checked into the Eden Hotel Wolff in Munich at 9 AM. This was a really fine hotel located in the heart of town just across from the train station. From there we had access to everything, trains, trams, buses and even taxi service. This was probably our most favorite hotel on the entire journey. The staff was great and catered to our every whim. The restaurant had some of the best Italian food and Wiener Schnitzel on the entire trip. The German people were really the nicest I have ever met. The tour was good but the weather was unusually hot, 90? to 95? F daily so we didn't get off at every stop. The bellhop even loaded our luggage onto the train when we left. We wouldn't mind staying there again.

Our next stop was Zurich and the Wellenberg Hotel. It was a fine hotel nestled in a courtyard/Plaza about a half mile from the train station. The staff was wonderful and went out of their way to assist us. Trolleys seem to be the main form of transportation there and a 24 hour ticket was only about 6 USD. The tour was breathtaking to say the least. Weather was 95? F during our stay.

We traveled by train to Venice and checked into the Novecento Boutique Hotel. This hotel was lovely The staff was fantastic and super friendly, the room was small for my tastes but well adorned with antique furniture and tapestries. There was a large common sitting area on each floor. Breakfast was served in the garden and was good. The Evening Serenade gondola ride is relaxing and a fine tour of the smaller canals in the city. The plazas and streets are lined with branded shops like Gucci and Prada and small art dealers and of course open air restaurants. You won't miss the lack of automobile traffic.

Our last stop was in Rome at the Capo D' Africa. The rooftop restaurant and lounge just off the main lobby was just what we needed to begin and end our day. The staff was fantastic and the room was great. The Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel tour were great. The tour guide was fantastic. We added a hop on hop off bus tour on Monday to round out the trip. My wife is still looking for the Italian restaurant that serves spaghetti and meatballs. Temperatures ranged from 93? to 100? F every day.

We really did enjoy ourselves though in hindsight I believe we should have had you book fewer stops along the way. It seemed that just as we got to know our way around a city, we were leaving. We are now taking a vacation from our vacation. We would still do it again. Thank you very much for all your assistance.

Kayla -- thank you so much.

Thought you might appreciate a run-down of the hotels & tours:

Hotel in Florence (Michelangelo) was charming; the woman who 'ran' it was fabulous. The walking tour of Florence was perfect. Just the right length and amount of information. We both enjoyed it immensely. Our reservation for the Academia was ideal and we were (as always) awed by David.

Venice -- hotel was in a great location -- just enough out of the frey to be pleasant, but close enough to be ideal. Room was dark and small, but pretty typcally European, so not an issue in anyway.

Lake Lugano (Parc Paradiso) -- Steller hotel. The hotel was in a glorious location overlooking the Lake and the staff was terrific. Amazing breakfast -- everysort of bread/roll/ meet/ eggs/ cheese you could imagine in a European breakfast. That same restaurant was magnificant for dinner with outside seating overlooking the view and a gourmet menu to die for. We didn't use the gym or sauna, but it was quite clean and beautiful. Great hotel overall.

Basil - Le Trois Roi -- Amazing hotel -- way, way over the top, but for one night, it was an adventure. We felt like two princesses. Imagine a re-done castle with all the most newest technology hidden away. Tres chic.

Finally - Paris - Parc Luxembourg -- HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The hotel is right across from the Parc Luxembourg with all that goes on in there (plus a nice respite on a hot day). The staff was fabulous, the room quite large by Paris standards with a huge (again by Paris standards) bath. Wonderful little breakfast room as well as a small (!) bar in the lobby, but really nice when traveling alone to be able to sit with a glass of wine or bring it up stairs after a long day of touring. This was the best of the bunch and I highly recommend the hotel.

Chocolate/Pastery tour -- Fabulous -- it was just Jessi and me and we got the full inside scoop on how to find and taste the best chocolates and pastries and it was yummy and full of information. Really a highlight (who needs to see churches when you have chocolate!).

Anyway, we had a phenomenal time.

Hi Kayla,

We have a little jet lag so I thought I would take this opportunity to tell you how our trip went, city by city. First of all Thank you, Thank you!!! It was a very long trip and we could not have done it without you. Everything that you planned went without a hitch.

Paris was incredible, the Hotel Louvre St. Anne was such a great location, we could walk everywhere, which was great for my 73 year old mother and my two kids. The Hop on and Off bus was great and so was the boat. Paris was perfectly planned given our family situation, Thank you for that.

Tuscany (San Gimignano): Locanda Viani was the highlight!! Please make your job easy and book this hotel for all your clients. I cried when I left because I knew it was going to be the highlight of our trip. The owners were wonderful and their hospitality was amazing. We found ourselves leaving our hill towns early so that we could enjoy the comforts of this hotel. Breakfast, wine and cheese on the terrace everyday, and long visits with the owners. Thank you for knowing about this hotel, we want to go back and just stay in Tuscany and use Locanda as our home base.

Cinque Terre: The hotel was perfect, near the beach and the train station and close to all the fun things to do. The town (Monterosso) you picked was perfect.

Florence: We walked into the Uffizi and Accademia passed all the people waiting in line. Thanks for making our reservations it saved hours of waiting in the heat. The Florence hotel (Orto de Medici) was the nicest one you booked in terms of luxury and in a fantastic location.

Venice: Loved Venice! Wish we had stayed there for 3 nights and Florence for 1. The Hotel (Relais Venezia) was great, very clean and centrally located. Very tough to find and get too by water taxi, however worth it. It was the best breakfast we had while on our adventures.

Kayla, I don't know how to say thank you enough, we just had an amazing time and the kids were great and loved it. You made our trip easy, and I think that is why we were so relaxed under an ordinarily stressful 18 days of travel. We can't wait to have you plan our next get-away, however it may just be 10 days at Locanda Viani in Tuscany. Feel free to use me as a reference to future clients, our trip was complicated with a lot of moving parts and you did just such a great job.

Monica

Hi Kayla,

We had a great trip. The Borgo Grondaie in Siena and The Hotel Basel in Basel were our favorites! Our whole trip in Germany, Swtizerland and Italy went extrememly well and we look forward to working with you again in the future.

Thanks for putting the trip together, you did a great job.

Kayla,

We are back safe and sound and had a wonderful visit to Europe. Everything went very smoothly. All hotel arrangements, tours and transfers were executed without a hitch. Although we enjoyed all four primary stops, we especially enjoyed a day trip we took to Lucerne (during our stay in Zurich), the incredible hiking in the mountains around Interlaken and experiencing the elegant city of Salzburg. We found the Swiss and Austrians very hospitable and the consistent timeliness of the rail system was really quite amazing. We'll forward some photos after we settle in a bit.

The return via Austrian Airways to Frankfurt and via Lufthansa to Dulles went well. Overall a very memorable and very pleasant fholiday.

Thanks for your wonderful assistance,

Fred

Hi, Kayla!

Our trip was wonderful. The accomodations you arranged were exactly what I was looking for......all had an excellent locations, clean, comfortable rooms, and fantastic service and staff! I would not hestistate to recommend your services or any of the hotels to anyone interested in European travel!

London - Royal Park Hotel:

Pretty and peaceful Hyde Park neighborhood. The short walk to/from 2 different Tube stations was ultra convenient. Beds are fabulous, almost too fabulous to want to get out of in the morning. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Room service was great too.

The Eurostar trip from London - Paris was excellent. No problems at all. My mom and daughter really enjoyed their first train trip in Europe.

Paris - Hotel Splendid Etoile:

Our room had a balcony view of the Arc de Triomphe! The concierge was attentive and arranged a great table for dinner/show at the Moulin Rouge....the seats were perfect! A metro station was literally in front of the hotel, making sightseeing via the Mo a breeze. The breakfast buffet was very nice (though the dining room tiny) and was open past noon, which worked out well for us after being out late on the town. :)

Rome - Hotel Gladiatori:

This was my first time in Italy and I loved it. This hotel is excellent! Close to a metro station as well. The service here cannot be beat.....We absolutely loved the penthouse and it's location (the short walk to breakfast each morning was no problem at all)! Our tour of the Vatican was unforgetable.....our guide Alex added so much to the experience.....so glad to have done that, thank you for arranging it!

Thanks so much for arranging such a wonderful family vacation for us!

Lesa

PS: We have already decided on our next family trip - this time to Nice for more of a "sit on the beach and relax" type of vacation. My in-laws will likely be joining us this time as well. Since we enjoyed this trip so much, we will probably request your services again!!! Thx! Lesa

Hi Kayla,

We arrived home on Friday. Everything was wonderful. Thank you for everything. The next time I travel to Europe, I will have you plan everything again. You did an excellent job. You made everything so easy with all the train travel we did. It was nice just pulling out the next voucher to use for the train or having the transportation pick-ups all in places. The entire 24 days was so much fun. My daughter and I never stopped. I was a little nervous with the trains, etc not having been there before and I did not know what to expect. But everything was really great. The food was awesome too. Can't wait to do it again.

I have about 2000 pictures. We are going to organize then and put them on the web and when I do I will send you the link.

Talk to you soon and thanks for your great work with this trip,

Colette

P.S. I told Nicole we will do another one like this when she graduates! Then we want to do Greece, the rest of Italy and who knows where else. I will use you for all my Europe trips, this is soo wonderful.

Kayla,

Just wanted to let you know that everything went perfectly. All of the hotel rooms were lovely and the drivers from the train stations made connections very convenient. I'm glad I didn't have to try to drive in Italy! I'm getting my pictures together right now, but I thought I would drop you a quick line and thank you for doing such a good job.

Thank you,

Dawna

Kayla,

Thanks so much! Nice to be home, but the trip was FABULOUS. All of the hotels, trains, drivers, were fantastic. We especially enjoyed Positano (la Rosa dei Venti) - the accomodations were beautiful, clean, and breakfast in our room or should I say the balcony was surreal.

I thank you for the care to details, as our trip went very smoothly, we could not have done it on our own. I'm already thinking of where to go next year. I'm partial to Greece... we'll see what Dawna wants to do.

We will be sure to have you make our arrangements for our next trip.

Thanks so much!

We just returned back to Florida from our vacation in France. Let me first thank you for all of your assistance and arrangements. We had such a wonderful time! I can honestly say that everything you planned for us was perfect. It was nice having a personal driver waiting for us in the paris airport after such a long flight. All of your tour drivers arrived on time and were extremely helpful. We enjoyed all of the hotels you chose for us. Our favorite hotel was the Aquabella Hotel and spa in Aix en Provence. Our favorite tour was the wine tour in Avignon.

We were happy we had a rental car in Provence as we were able to visit the cities of Monaco, Montecarlo, and Marsaille. Withought the car, we may have gotten a little bored in the small towns. Overall, the experience was wonderful. We loved everything about the trip. Thank you for all your careful planning and all of your hints on the itinerary.

I have attached a few pictures from our trip!

Dear Kayla,

My best friend, her 9-year old daughter and I spent two wonderful weeks in England and France and the itinerary you provided was just perfect! We started with a few days in London - a great city for a young girl fascinated with kings and queens- Westminster Abbey, the London Eye, a Thames river cruise, the Tower of London, plenty of places to stop for tea, lunch and dinner, and of course a trip to Harrods for chocolates! Only rained one day...but that didn't stop us. The Luna and Simone Hotel (and all the hotels you selected) were just right for us...small, very friendly, comfortable, very clean and in great locations.

From London we took the Euro-Star to Paris...we really enjoyed that...and Paris was so beatutiful...our hotel was a short walk to the Eiffel Tower - you could see it from our hotel window - such a treat when lit at night and twinkling. The 2-day pass on the L'Open bus was a great way to get the layout of the city and hear about its history...easy to get on and off throughout the day. We went to the Louvre, the National Museum of the Moyan Age (wonderful medieval tapestries), Notre Dame, walked the Seine, had tea at Lauderee, and went to Montmarte with.the artists, the shops, the food and the Sacre Cour basilica...very enjoyable.

From Paris, we took the train to Aix-en-Provence, which we three agreed was the absolute highlight of our trip. We spent four days there - exploring, shopping, roaming the small, curved streets, eating and more eating, there are beautiful old churches, fountains, a fruit and vegetable market every morning, the hotel wonderful with a lovely pool and spa, the color of the sky in Provence really is a special shade of blue...we wished we could have stayed forever! Then on to Nice by train...just a day - 1/2 - but enough to sit by the Mediterranean, wind down and prepare for the trip home.

Great flights on British Airways, the driver to and from the airports made it very easy. Kayla, with so many choices out there, your selection of transportation, accommodations and activities was just right for us...enough to keep a 9-year old girl interested, yet enough time for two adults to soak in the culture and atmosphere of two very different countries. We will certainly use your services again and recommended you to our friends and business colleagues. Thank you so much for a wonderful trip...we're already thinking about our next one, so you'll for sure be hearing from us!

Hi Kayla,

We're back from Italy. What a fantastic trip. We are really very pleased with all of your work and I thought I would share a brief over-view of our journey.

1. Air travel: We took care of this ourselves but I just wanted to let you know that the Lufthansa service from Munich to Chicago is outstanding in Business Class. They use new AirBus equipment with fully reclinable flat seats, the service is excellent as is the food. Anyway, just for future reference. (I travel so much that it is unusual for me to compliment an airline, but there you have it.)

2. The Hotel Splendide in Rome was excellent. After we finally straightened out the misunderstanding on the reservation, we had a very nice room, and the breakfast was very good. It is in a great location also, near good restaurants and most sites. We had dinner at the Michelin rated restaurant on the top floor and it was incredible. Sat outside on the terrace on a perfect night in Rome and enjoyed the view along with an outstanding meal. Expensive (really expensive), but worth it.

3. Positano was absolutely awesome as you suggested. I am glad we added a day there. The train trip down and local transportation were great!!

4. The Hotel Eden Roc is a fantastic place. It is completely modern, fresh and bright, and the people there are the friendliest folks you could meet (remember we're used to France, where basic things are always a headache). Anyway a great hotel and we want to emphasize that we really enjoyed the place, with a nice terrace, a great view and fantastic people.

5. We spent a day in Capri which is a "must do". For 120 Euro you can hire a convertible driver who speaks English for the whole day. It was really good, and still left us time to walk around and see the place. One day is enough, but next time I think I'd spend one night there (just take a change of clothes) to enjoy Capri at night with few tourists around.

6. In Tuscany, the Relais Le Suevera was probably one of the coolest hotels I've ever stayed at in the world. Since it is actually still the residence of some Dutchess and Duke of something or other, it is maintained beautifully with very old (modernized) rooms and excellent service. It is quite a distance from Siena, so it wouldn't suit someone who wants to be near a town, but if you enjoy the beautiful Tuscan countryside, this was an awesome place. The restaurant was absolutely incredible (so much so that Donna and I dined there twice for dinner instead of taking a chance on something else). The service at both the hotel and the restarant was absolutely excellent.

7. The wine tour was really fun. The young lady that took us around was Alexandra (I think she's one of the owners) knows the proprietors of small wineries that are off the beaten path, with very nice people, wine and food. How often do you visit a winery and the Wine Master is the guy who gives you the tour of the place! It was awesome, and it is obvious that Alexandra knows these people personally. Just a great tour and Alexandra was awesome.

8. Venice was lovely, but I think 2 1/2 days was plenty. We walked a LOT, saw the major stuff, and used the walking tour organized by the hotel to take in some of the outer lying areas off the beaten path. The guide was very good, extremely knowledgeable with perfect English- thank you for arranging this.

We truly had a fantastic trip and would love to serve as a great reference for you.

Thanks again,

Gregg and Donna

Kayla,

It took us a few days to recover and get caught up. Our trip was great overall. Everything went smoothly except for one blow-out in Scotland and a broken mirror in Ireland. The driving took some adjustments and the roads can be narrow and many are poorly marked. We did see some small parts of the country by accident, but we were never lost. People in both countries were very friendly and helpful in answering questions.

The accomodations you booked for us were excellant. Our favorites were the Borthwick Castle in Scotland and Sheedy's Country House Hotel in Ireland. The Borthwick Castle does require some physical effort, as the entrance is up two flights of steps and our room was on the fifth level above the Grand Hall up a stone stairway in a turret.

In Edinburgh, our hotel was about a ten minute walk from the Princess Street shopping and dining district. Edinburgh Castle was just a little beyond that. In Dublin we were right on O'Connal Street a within an easy walk of many pubs, stores of all types and even found a small casino. We found two places on two evenings with live Irish musicians and Irish dancers.

The Riverside Hotel in Killarney was very nice, but good we had a car, as nothing was within easy walking distance, with the exception of the Irish National Events Center where they were having Ireland's Annual Motorcycle Rally while we were there. My wife and I enjoyed that since we both own and ride motorcycles. It was a nice bonus for us.

Your choices for us were excellant and I would recommend your services to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful trip.

Kayla,

The trip was perfect. Here are our highlights: Arrived Thursday morning in Milan. Our Milan hotel was magnificent (Parco Principe Savoia). Tour of Milan included Il Duomo and La Scala and was very well done. Timing of Train Ride to Lugano on Friday fit our schedule perfectly. Hotel in Lugano (Splendide Royal Lugano) was even better than Milan ? lakeside suite with beautiful views. Enjoyed free time taking the cable car to the top of the mountain for additional scenery and dinner on the lake. We took a 4:00pm train on Saturday from Lugano to Zurich which is the most beautiful route one can imagine with the Alps surrounding you, crystal clear lakes and green mountainsides. Arrived in Zurich Saturday night and on Sunday did a half day tour of Zurich. All drivers, tours, connections points were on time and easy to find. The weather was beautiful all four days.

I will definitely use your service again and will recommend it to friends. The entire process was easy and hassle free. Thanks so much for your help ? I could not have done this trip without you.

Hi Kayla-

Greetings back from Italy. Josh and I received your latest email and wanted to send you the pictures from our trip. We had an amazing time and we were so impressed with everything you had arranged for us. Everything was top notch and first class, my husband was very impressed considering the fact he had nothing to do with the planning.

I have mentioned to many people that if they plan to take a trip like this that I would love to give them your information. We were very impressed with your organization, your knowledge, and your creativity on planning this trip. My husband and I feel that this was the best vacation ever and that we will definitely contact you the next time we plan on taking a European vacation. Thank you so much for everything we greatly appreciated it!

Hey Kayla,

We are back from our honeymoon to Rome and Paris. It was an absolute perfect time! From the moment we landed everything came together like magic. The tours, hotels, and the tranfers led us on a journey of a lifetime. All we had to do was sit back and take it all in as we started our life together as Mr and Mrs. Both hotels (Domus Livia & Duquesne Eiffel Hotel) were in great locations and the people who worked there were very helpful and freindly. The tours and the museum passes gave us some great insight to the life and times of some of the most treasured places in the world. The only bad part of the whole trip was when it ended.

I will definitely be using your services again in the future and I have already let my friends know that if they are planning a trip to Europe that I have the perfect travel agent for them. You are a great blend of perfection and value. Thanks again for everything and I look forward to setting up our next trip!

Kayla,

Our trip went very well. Keep in mind that we, unlike other tourists, walked most everywhere to and from train stations, etc. All of the hotels were fine - clean and we felt safe. Each hotel was a different experience. All the operators were friendly and helpful. Two stand out in my mind - in Sorrento, the hotel (Hotel Savoia) was in a good location, had a balcony which was relaxing and the owner gave everyone special attention at breakfast. In Venice, before we left I thought this hotel looked too far away from the action in a neighborhood not talked about in Rick Steve's book. I was pleasantly surprised to be far enough away that we were in an actual Italian neighborhood where the residents came out to the main avenue every night between 5 and 7 and talked with friends. It was great to observe the children playing, the elderly cared for as well as the long involved exchanges between neighbors. Although the walk to Saint Marks Square was every bit 20 minutes, this local taste was priceless.

Kayla, when I first saw your website I thought your arrangements would be too luxurious and removed from the local Italians for us. We are well traveled former Peace Corps Volunteers and were used to safe and simple travel accommodations. Traveling with two teens presented us new challenges. You heard what I was asking for in this manner, worked patiently with my requests ( and changes) and delivered a great trip. Excellent job! I have included a few photos. Traveling with teens was eye-opening for us. ha!

Sincerely,

Melissa

Kayla,

Italy was great! Monica and I had a wonderful time in this beautiful country full of history, culture, art and delicious food and great wines. Every city had something wonderful to offer and the weather was great. The Vatican is awsome and impressive with all of its history and paintings from great artists.

Everything went very smoothly; every hotel was unique and had something special to offer. The staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs. Breakfast in the mornings was delicious. Our hotel in Amalfi (La Conca Azzura) was incredible with beautiful views and great restaurant. The hotel in Venice was wonderful because it was in a great quiet location and was immacuately clean.

Monica and I want to thank you for making our honeymoon memorable and fun. We met some great people, shared some wonderful moments and explored new cities. Everything was smooth and as promised. You certainly delivered great value as we felt pampered along the way with private tours and charming hotels. Thanks for everything. We will certainly come back to you again for our next trip to Europe.

Thanks again for everything!
